About

Self Portrait (2016)

Hi I’m Clayton, a Director and Cinematographer from Perth, Australia.

I grew up in the small town of Toodyay, Western Australia, and most of my childhood was focused on the Visuals Arts such as painting and drawing. I picked up my first camera at age 11, and haven’t been able to let go since. Since then I have spent much of my life shooting projects that I’m passionate about, taking film classes, and self-studying through every book I could get my hands on, in order to improve my filmmaking craft.

I love telling creative stories through narrative filmmaking, and often try to find a balance between creative integrity and viewability to the average audience member.

While I work mostly as a Director and DP, I have over the years picked up a number of different skill sets to help improve the quality of my work without breaking the bank, including Video Editing, Colour Grading, VFX (Simple Compositing, General 3D), and Sound Design and Mixing.

Since entering the film industry as a professional in 2013, I have worked on over 130 projects, including short films, events, corporate jobs, and over 70 music videos. My notable clients include Northlane, Make Them Suffer, Crossfaith (Japan), Black Tongue (UK), and FBR Ltd.
